FnaticMSI came out on top of the QuakeLive 4v4 CTF tournament after overcoming a very valiant fight from 2.0.
FnaticMSI had a very dominant tournament, being seeded #1 and getting a buy through from round 1 they only conceded 5 flags on their route to the Grand Final, beating virus 11-5 and Drugs & Porn 5-0.
The real talk of the tournament was the performance of the other team in the Grand Final, 2.0. They, by no means had an easy route to the final, taking out bananas very convincingly in the first round 16-1 they came to face EXEC, the third seed in the tournament in the second round. The game was a close one, taking it to overtime of "first cap wins" and just poking their noses in front of EXEC to take it 6-5.
The biggest challenge for 2.0 came in the semi-finals, being faced with the #2 seed in the tournament, YoYotech. Most people expected a very dominant win from YoYotech but with server issues and some timeouts 2.0 grabbed the initiative and beat YoYotech 7-0 overall in a very convincing, but surprising win to take them to the Grand Finals.
The Grand Final seemed to be a very balanced event in the first map on ctf2 with both teams being quite tentative and trying to control the middle of the map. FnaticMSI seemed to miss some creativity with Linkje, their main attacker, having to leave early. Eventually FnaticMSI began to push and took a slender 1-0 lead into the second map.
The second map became slightly more lob-sided with FnaticMSI beginning to push up much more, taking the initiative and using their better aiming to take control of the game, winning a convincing 8-1 to take the Grand Final 9-1 overall.
